Expat Logistics is the largest pet handling agent in Saudi Arabia, managing around 30% of pets arriving into Riyadh and over 70% of pets travelling out from Dammam and Riyadh (as manifest cargo).
We can provide you with specific services, such as MEWA export / import licenses, or with a full door-to- door service for your furry friend. We understand pets are family, so we are here to make the process as smooth and hassle free as possible.
Each country has different documentation requirements and regulations for the import and export of pets but generally to import a pet you will need to provide an up to date vaccination record and many countries require valid Rabies Titus Test. Saudi Arabia also requires an Import Permit or Export License (as relevant), issued by the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture.
We can advise on the requirements for each country and also offer a Rabies Titre Test service in KSA working with our partner vet clinics in Jeddah, Riyadh and Khobar. Samples are sent to a globally recognised government laboratory in the UK and certificates are normally issued within 3-4 weeks.
Please note, many airlines and airport facilities have still not reinstated their full pet services since COVID, so travel dates are subject to approval from all parties. Pet travel to London Heathrow is currently subject to a 10-12 week lead time, many other countries have a similar backlog, so we strongly recommend you plan your pets' travel at least 3 months in advance.
Key information we will ask for when you contact us for a quotation;
when do you want your pet(s) to travel?
where do you want them to travel from and to?
what is your pets' weight and size?
do you have suitable / approved Pet Carrier?
does your pet have up to date vaccination records and a valid Rabies Titus Test Certificate? (if applicable for destination)
When moving abroad with your pet you have two options; accompanied baggage or manifest cargo. Your options may be limited by the airlines operating to / from the origin / destination so please contact us with your exact requirements and we will be happy to provide more detailed information to suit your needs.
If you are travelling to a neighbouring country you may also be able to drive your pet across the border, this is obviously cheaper, but the documentation requirements will be the same.
Whether travelling as accompanied baggage or manifest cargo, your pet must travel in an approved IATA Pet Carrier. Please visit our Pet Carrier page for more information on how to measure your pet and calculate a suitable carrier size.
