Some airlines permit owners to travel with their pets as accompanied baggage, meaning you literally check the pets in with your hold baggage at the airport counter. This option is cheaper than manifest cargo, but does mean you accept responsibility for the booking and acceptance of your pet with your chosen airline.
We can assist with the documents required for export from, or import to Saudi Arabia. Requirements will vary, depending on your route, please contact us for further information.
Please note this is not permitted on every route (pets travelling to the UK must travel as manifest cargo unless on a private charter), and airlines may only offer this service on specific routes. Each airline will have a different process, and some airlines may not guarantee your pets' travel until the time of check-in, so you may need a back up plan in case they are rejected.
Depending on the size of your pet, the airline's own rules and / or the number of other pets booked on your flight, your pet may either travel in the hold or the cabin. If your pet is travelling in the cabin they must be carried in a soft-sided carrier which can be placed comfortably under the seat in front of you. If they are travelling in the hold of the aircraft they must be in an IATA approved hard-sided carrier. Please visit our Pet Carrier page for more information
The arrival process will vary depending on your destination; for arrivals into Riyadh cats and small dogs will be delivered to the baggage area and you will be asked for the import documentation and health certificate when passing through security screening.
