What vaccinations and documents are required for pets to travel to Saudi Arabia?
To enter Saudi Arabia your pet must have:
My pet has an EU Passport, is this valid for travel to Saudi Arabia?
An EU Pet Passport allows travel between EU countries. When travelling outside of the EU it is simply a vaccination book so can be used to confirm the microchip and vaccinations.
My country doesn’t issue vaccination books, but I have Vaccination Certificates, is this OK?
Yes, you can use your pets’ vaccination book, or vaccination certificates as long as they comply with the below requirements:
· All vet documents can be bi-lingual but must include English or Arabic – No other single language document will be accepted
· Where names or details are listed in another language on the vaccination documents, it is acceptable to write an English translation next to the information
· Vaccination Books / Certificates must include:
o Pet details in full (Name, breed, sex, DOB, microchip number & date)
o Original Manufacturer Vaccine stickers
o Vet signature
o Vet stamp
o Clearly defined administered date DD MM YYYY (American documents can be accepted at MM DD YYYY but this must be clearly identified as the forma). It will be assumed that ALL dates listed in documents are DD MM YYYY no matter the origin unless clearly stated as US Format by the administering vet
· All signatures must be in BLUE INK and original copies must travel with your pet
· If ANY element of the above are missing, you must obtain the following for the application to be accepted, and original to travel with your pet:
o Vet issued Signed & stamped vaccination certificate containing the pets’ full details and the vaccination details
o Must have the Dr’s name, clinic name and address and licence number
Where can I get an International Health Certificate? Is there a specific format required and how long is it valid for?
Each country has their own format for Health Certificates. For entry to Saudi Arabia please ensure the Health Certificate can be bi-lingual, but must include English or Arabic, no other single language document will be accepted.
Do I need to have my pets’ documents attested by the Saudi Embassy before they fly?
The International Health Certificate does not need to be attested by the Saudi Embassy or Consulate, but some countries may require local government attestation for an export permit. Please ask your pet relocation specialist for specific details for your trip
