dogs from saudi arabia to usa

What does my dog need to enter the USA?

To travel from Saudi Arabia to the USA each dog pet must have:

· Microchip, implanted on or before date of validating vaccinations

· Valid core vaccinations

· Valid rabies vaccination

· Valid RNATT certificate OR USDA Rabies Vaccination Certificate OR a USDA Health Certificate issued before 31 July 2025

· Treatment for internal and external parasite within 30 days of travel

- Screwworm Inspection

· Vet health certificate

· MEWA Export Health Certificate

· MEWA Export permit

- CDC Import Receipt in advance of travel

How do I get a CDC Import Receipt?

All dogs MUST HAVE their own import form receipt. The owner (or person travelling if accompanied should apply).

The process can be completed any time prior to arriving but ideally you should apply 3 to 5 days before travel. If the arrival date changes, a new receipt would be required

CDC Dog import form can be found at https://cdc-786687.workflowcloud.com/forms/090dc543-7b2f-4538-b2c7-2919d12ecc73

You can follow these instructions https://www.cdc.gov/importation/dogs/dog-import-form-instructions.html#cdc_generic_section_2-dogs-coming-from-dog-rabies-free-or-low-risk-countries

My dog came from the USA and I have USA vaccinations, do I still need to get an RNATT Certificate?

You must supply proof of vaccinations in the form of a USDA Rabies Vaccine certificate or a USDA health certificate if dated prior to 31st July 2025 and the vaccines are still valid and meet the entry requirements. Please note the CDC often change this requirement and you must check directly to ensure you have the appropriate documents

I don't have a USDA Health Certificate (I've lost it, or my dog has never been to the USA)

Entry Requirements for Foreign-Vaccinated Dogs from High-Risk Countries Including Saudi Arabia

Please visit for current information: https://www.cdc.gov/importation/dogs/dog-import-form-instructions.html#cdc_generic_section_3-dogs-coming-from-high-risk-countries

•RNATT test sampled at least 30 days after rabies vaccine or booster

•Importers Contact Number

•Importers Phone number

•Copy of importers Passport photo page

Quarantine of 28 days will be applicable for all dogs that don’t meet the above requirements in full

What is an RNATT and how can I get a certificate?

The RNATT, also known as a Rabies Titre test is a simple blood test which measures the levels of rabies anti-bodies in a pet. In order to be valid for travel the certificate must be issued by a globally accredited laboratory, we normally use the APHA Laboratory in the UK or the CVRL laboratory in the UAE.

We can arrange RNATT testing for your pet. If you are in Riyadh our service includes transport to/from the vet visit, if you are outside of Riyadh you would need to ask your local vet to take a blood sample and they will give you a small vial of clear serum to send to us, in which case our service includes the courier cost from any city in KSA to Riyadh

Can my dog fly to any airport in the USA?

If your dog requires an RNATT to enter the USA entry must be to one of the 6 approved CDC airports.

The CDC Centres are: MIA – JFK – ATL – IAD – LAX – PHL

Pets returning with US administered vaccinations which do not require RNATT certificates are free to enter via any airport but please note your import form receipt must list the airport you are arriving as first point of entry to USA

Can I take my dog with me as accompanied baggage to the USA?

Yes, but you must check with your airline to confirm they will accept your dog as accompanied baggage (i.e. added to your flight booking) on your specific flight(s).

Please check directly with the CDC centre at your relevant airport as not all airports will accommodate accompanied arrivals
